ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research
Senior Scientist
Bengaluru Area, India
I am Sridhar Gutam, a senior scientist at the ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bengaluru, which is a constituent establishment of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). With a PhD in Plant Physiology from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, my main area of expertise lies in studying the physiology and phenology of horticultural crops.

Aside from my scientific research, I am deeply passionate about promoting Open Access, Open Data, and Open Education. In fact, I founded Open Access India, a dedicated community that works tirelessly to ensure that publicly funded research information and data are easily accessible. Through my efforts, I have been actively involved in advocating for the adoption of Open Access policy within the ICAR.

I am honored to serve on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Horticultural Sciences and IndiaRxiv. Additionally, I hold advisory positions in esteemed organizations such as agriRxiv, Thesis Commons, and Redalyc-AmeliCA. These roles reflect my commitment to advancing agricultural research and scholarly publishing.
Overall, I am proud to contribute to the field of horticultural research while advocating for open practices that benefit the scientific community and the public alike.
